Accor has announced plans to launch a new 25hours Hotels property within a historic address in Sydney. The building, which was first opened in 1911 as the West’s Olympia Theatre, will be transformed by Australian architecture firm Tonkin Zulaikha Greer to host the forthcoming 25hours Hotel Sydney.
“The building itself is in an incredible location and has enormous potential, and the open areas, such as the rooftop bar and the central courtyard, will allow us to truly bring our new hospitality concept to life,” says Accor Pacific CEO Simon McGrath.
Hong Kong-based design practice A Work of Substance will oversee the hotel’s interiors, which will be oriented around a central courtyard that also serves as an onsite event space. Onsite F&B options will include a café on the ground floor as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant crafted by locally based studio Acme & Co. A fitness center and extensive conference facilities will also be featured.
The 105-room 25hours Hotel Sydney is slated to debut by the end of 2022, and will mark the brand’s second Australian property. (25hours Hotel Melbourne is currently under development.)
