Washington, DC-based architecture and design studio //3877 has completed work on the Courtyard Marriott Fort Worth Historic Stockyards in Texas. The 124-room hotel boasts a locally inspired cowboy-chic aesthetic balanced with modern elements.
The lobby greets guests with several screens crafted from rustic rebar and reclaimed wood sourced from an Alabama barn. Evocative of traditional ranch outbuildings, the reception pods use corrugated metal bases complemented by antiqued mirror winks. A business-oriented library space is partitioned with a wall of vintage cowboy boots and light fixtures styled with barbed wire twists and lasso motifs reminiscent of Texas ranches. Public spaces—including a saloon, parlor, and back porch—feature rustic finishes, real hair-on-hide upholstery, weathered wood, and tooled saddle leather
A denim motif also softens the ambiance in each guestroom alongside graphic murals. The bright, clean bathrooms convey tranquility with softly hued wallpaper and floor tiling that recalls the colors of a Texas sunset. Native turquoise accents are also featured to highlight some of the design’s more contemporary details.
