AC Hotel Portland Downtown has debuted in the heart of the city’s downtown, marking the Marriott brand’s arrival in the Portland, Oregon market. Locally based firm SERA Architects crafted the 13-story hotel, which was also developed by McWHINNEY and Mortenson. The design blends modern European characteristics with innovative spaces.
The open lobby features the brand’s signature concept spaces punctuated with welcoming furnishings and modern design elements. An artful installation of a ram sitting on a house represents the whimsy and bold thinking that defines the property. The lounge puts a twist on the traditional hotel bar, while the café concept kitchen offers additional dining options. The library will serve as a soothing retreat with modern art and a circulating collection crafted by guest curators. Included among the hotel’s 1,675 square feet of meeting space are corporate media salons and a boardroom.
All 204 contemporary guestrooms will echo the European influence with deep gray and charcoal tones that harmonize with clean lines and hardwood floors. Furniture is lifted from the ground to instill a sense of space, while crisp white linens evoke elegance.
