The Ambassador Chicago hotel has debuted as the latest outpost under the Journal Hotels banner. Drawing inspiration from the city’s Golden Age, the historic structure from the 1920s will honor the city’s storied history through thoughtful programming and an opulent design.
Located in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, the hotel accommodates 285 spacious guestrooms, two restaurants, a 24-hour fitness center, and local amenities curated by Chicago-based artisans and chefs. An additional onsite eatery will debut this fall following its revamp from Lettuce Entertain You Group. The forthcoming restaurant will further amplify the celebration of Chicago’s glamorous history, while also injecting a dash of modernity. Traditions from the Art Deco styles of the early 19th century are featured as well, from vaulted ceilings to original crown moldings. Glass doorknobs, ornate wrought iron, and modern furnishings also reflect the city’s cultural presence. A rotating exhibition of contemporary artwork will also be hosted.
