The Anantara Angkor Resort in Siem Reap, Cambodia has returned after its extensive renovation of two new presidential suites. Crafted by Bangkok’s Abacus Design, the 39-key boutique’s new accommodations include the Henri Mouhot and Anantara Explorer suites, which are designed to recall a Khmer summer home and evoke Old World elegance with bold colors, as well as imported Thai silk and fabrics from Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company’s Leo De Janeiro collection.
Complete with two bedrooms, the 2,529-square-foot Henri Mouhot suite pays homage to the French explorer and naturalist and accommodates up to six guests. It also hosts a sandstone relief that reflects the nearby ruins of Angkor. The one-bedroom Anantara Explorer suite includes 1,915 square feet of living space and draws inspiration from Thompson’s own home in Bangkok shown through groove ceilings and rectangular wall panels.
Enveloped by lush garden flora, both suites boast abundant indoor-outdoor living spaces that include a lounge, bar, and gardens endowed with a plunge pool and an oversized double sun lounge bed, The Leo De Janeiro collection also continues with abstract ruby Pomare wallcoverings, intricate Chinese lacquered headboards, and pewter-toned velvet seat covers.
