Spread across 23 acres of Arizona’s Paradise Valley, the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa—Andaz’s first hotel in Scottsdale—will open in November. Established as a serene desert oasis, the property will be framed by 50-foot-tall pine trees, cacti, and desert wildflowers.
San Diego-based firm Delawie Architects has infused the resort’s Guest House with an inviting, midcentury modern design. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls will highlight the signature eatery—Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen—and lounge spaces while the exterior features a large patio. The social gathering space will serve a relaxing, contemplative atmosphere during the day and will evolve into a convivial cocktail venue in the evening.
Crafted by, Novato, California-based studio EDG Interior Architecture + Design, 201 bungalow-style guestrooms will be clad with a combination of vibrant color, folk art, and cultural patterns inspired by architect Alexander Girard and other mid-20th-century designers and artists. Ranging in size from 350 to 500 square feet, guestrooms and suites are clustered into four- to six-unit enclaves, most of which will be equipped with private outdoor patios. Individual guestrooms will feature a front terrace with Spanish-style banco seating and contemporary picnic tables. Midcentury-inspired bathrooms will offer grand showers and abundant natural light.
More than 150 chaise lounges and beds and 13 private cabanas will be spread across the centrally located Turquoise Pool’s expansive sundeck. The 12,000-square-foot Palo Verde Spa & Apothecary will provide numerous wellness opportunities including a blending bar, and houses four indoor and three outdoor treatment rooms, outdoor hydrotherapy pools, a nail and hair salon, eucalyptus steam rooms, outdoor relaxation spaces, and a private pool.
The resort will also house 10,000 square feet of designated indoor-outdoor meeting and function space, such as the 3,900-square-foot Foundry ballroom, the 3,800-square-foot Easel and Mural Studios, and four working studios as large as 1,600 square feet. More than 36,000 square feet of outdoor event and function space will also be available.
