Hilton Worldwide recently debuted its Curio – A Collection by Hilton collection in Latin America with the addition of Anselmo Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Designed by locally based Gabriela Faena, the hotel is located in the city’s San Telmo neighborhood near historic Plaza Dorrego Square—known for its cafés, bars, shops, and antique stores—and takes its name from Anselmo Aieta, a famous tango musician and composer rumored to have been the property’s initial owner.
“Originally built as a stunning mansion in 1906, Anselmo Buenos Aires pays tribute to a community rich in history that dates back to the 18th century and provides guests with the perfect launching pad for a truly intriguing cultural experience,” says Dianna Vaughan, global head of Curio.
The 50-room hotel, whose 1900s façade was retained, houses modern and artful interiors influenced by local culture. Communal gathering spaces promote social interaction, and special accommodations include four corner rooms, a large suite with its own private balcony, and two colonial rooms overlooking the square. All guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in showers, wood floors, views of the hotel’s inner plaza, and unique lighting.
Two Argentina-inspired restaurants, Café Anselmo and Anselmo Lounge, are available in addition to a fitness center and 3,300 square feet of meeting space to accommodate more than 100 guests.
Hilton Worldwide also recently launched its Curio – A Collection by Hilton portfolio in Europe with the reopening of the historic Reichshof Hamburg in Germany.
