North Carolina’s Asheville Foundry Inn will join Curio– A Collection by Hilton when it’s completed next December.
The 92-room hotel will be fashioned from three pre-existing, contiguous buildings and two new-build structures; all five buildings will be connected.
“Curio properties come in all shapes and sizes, and the Asheville Foundry Inn will be one of the most distinct,” says Matt Wehling, Hilton Worldwide’s senior vice president of development for North America. “While it will be a new hotel, it will keep the inimitable look and feel of the buildings that have called the neighborhood home for many years.”
The property will connect to the landmark Young Men’s Institute (YMI), which was built in 1894 to accommodate workers who constructed George Vanderbilt’s nearby Biltmore Estate.
A 3,500-square-foot lounge in one building will feature a library and fireplaces. Amenities will include a 100-seat restaurant, a 3,600-square-foot spa, a fitness center, and approximately 3,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The hotel is being developed by Encore Lodging, which purchased the three existing buildings from Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church for $3.5 million earlier this year.
