Auberge Resorts Collection has announced plans to expand its international footprint with the addition of its fourth Mexican property—Etéreo, Auberge Resorts Collection, Riviera Maya. Spanish for “ethereal,” Etéreo will comprise 75 contemporary guesthouses developed along the tropical, oceanfront backdrop when it debuts in 2021.
The resort will feature a collection of patinaed coral stone volumes that pay homage to Mayan tradition through a modern lens with contemporary materials paired with regionally inspired details. A series of wooden boardwalks will link each accommodation to help convey a residential-style neighborhood quality. Floor-to-ceiling windows will frame views of the Caribbean Sea, while large terraces, private plunge pools, and expansive sliding doors will promote seamless indoor-outdoor living. Accessible via an elevated walkway, the Auberge Spa will also overlook a sea of onsite mangroves and house facilities such as a yoga and fitness pavilion as well as private gardens with outdoor showers and baths. Additional amenities will also include several F&B venues, a casual beachside bar, and an infinity-edge swimming pool.
