SH Hotels & Resorts and Boscalt Hospitality are coming together to launch Baccarat Hotel Rome in late 2025. The historic Hotel Majestic will be transformed by Pierre-Yves Rochon and SH’s in-house team to reflect the lavish finishes and flourishes that are a signature of the Baccarat brand, while maintaining the property’s storied reputation as an ageless fixture of the Italian city.
“We are pleased to partner with Boscalt Hospitality, a member of the Edmond de Rothschild Private Equity Partnership, to bring the Baccarat brand to Rome, which will forever be the Eternal City for the world’s most sophisticated explorers and travelers,” says Barry Sternlicht, SH chairman and Starwood Capital Group chairman and CEO. “This dynamic modern metropolis is not just one of the most cherished travel destinations in the world, but it has been a preeminent global political, artistic, spiritual, and cultural capital since the classical era. At Baccarat Hotel Rome, we will revive and restore the glamour and sophistication of an iconic luxury landmark by delivering a level of service and attention to detail that will delight guests and local residents alike.”
Boscalt Hospitality cofounder Liza Masias adds: “We are proud to collaborate with the dynamic design team at Baccarat in redefining and repositioning a historic property with a contemporary flair that pays respectful tribute to the cultural and artistic heritage of an ancient yet modern imperial city.”
In addition to an intimate cocktail bar and a stately rooftop bar, the 83-room hotel will feature a main restaurant attached to an expansive terrace overlooking Via Veneto. Meeting and conference spaces, a full-service spa, and a fitness center will round out the onsite amenities.
Baccarat Hotel Rome will be the second location for Baccarat Hotels & Resorts, which debuted its 114-key flagship in New York in 2015.
