The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel, is slated to unveil its multimillion-dollar renovation this summer in Edinburgh. The three-month overhaul is led by Rocco Forte Hotels’ director of building and design Olga Polizzi, who is also the sister of Rocco Forte.
Updated guestrooms and suites will be reminiscent of the Scottish woodlands with a palette of blue, green, gray, and purple that recalls regional lochs and heathers. The bucolic motif will appear in wallpaper, which will depict trees and foliage. Locally sourced cushioning will also be decorated with fixtures of Scottish wildlife. Carved mirrors and tables equipped with bronze branch-like legs, recessed window seats, and handmade beds all evoke luxury.
