Rosewood Luang Prabang, a luxury resort in Laos, is scheduled to open in 2017. Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will manage the property.
Designed by Bangkok-based architecture and interior design firm Bensley, the hotel will be located near its namesake city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, on a forested property that includes natural river and waterfall features. Each of its 22 accommodations—which encompass eight deluxe villas, three garden villas, six private pool villas, and five luxury tents—will border either a stream or a riverbank.
The approximately 1,076-square-foot luxury tents will be a first for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and are expected to include private dining areas, wraparound decks, and traditional Laos decorative elements juxtaposed with a French colonial style—an aesthetic reflected in all property accommodations. Indigenous materials and locally inspired art will define the space.
An arrival manor will contain a bar and bistro that serve French and Laotian cuisine, along with the brand’s signature Sense, A Rosewood Spa and its three treatment rooms.
The property will additionally host the first philanthropic hospitality school in Laos, which will provide students with professional hospitality training.
