Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has introduced the Rosewood Luang Prabang in Laos—the brand’s second resort in Southeast Asia and its first to include tented villas. Designed by Bill Bensley, the luxurious retreat is nestled within dense forestry, and draws inspiration from the concept of a Laotian hill station from the turn of the 20th century.
The property is home to 23 guestrooms, villas, suites, and tented accommodations, all fixed around the onsite waterfall and swimming pool. All units include a private pool, oversized balcony, and outdoor wooden bathtub and are appointed with a French-Indochine ambiance. Thoughtfully curated furnishings instill a sense of place as well as historical significance, with items ranging from early 20th-century illustrations to vintage Kodak cameras. Averaging more than 800 square feet, the six tented villas are set upon an isolated hillside with respect to existing flora and fauna. Oversized balconies also further immerse guests in the natural setting.
The Great House features indoor dining in addition to an open-air terrace appointed with large daybeds and sofas that overlook lush gardens. The Elephant Bridge lounge also overlooks views of the picturesque rivers nearby as does Sense, a Rosewood Spa, which is spread across three individual tented villas.
