Bulgari Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion in Europe with the launch of the Bulgari Hotel Paris at the heart of the Golden Triangle in the city’s 8th arrondissement. The design by Milan firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, a regular collaborator of the luxury brand, balances Italian design excellence with the allure of the City of Lights.
“The location in the Golden Triangle is something that inspired us deeply. There you can breathe the geometry of Haussmann’s Paris with its Grands Boulevards, the obsessive monochrome order of the stone, the orderly rows of trees, and the extension of the city with its grand hotels, while towards the Seine you get the art deco perspectives of the Trocadéro,” Viel says. “It is from this duality between bourgeois elegance and bohemian invention that the Bulgari Hotel Paris takes shape, in its external lines reduced to the essentials to express the dynamic energy of its verticality.”
The interior of the property is characterized by a natural palette of marble, granite, and wood, as well as the addition of textural silk upholstery and wallcoverings. A convergence of Italian and French sensibilities define public spaces, including the hotel’s signature restaurant: Il Ristorante – Niko Romito. Adjacent and overlooking the onsite garden, the Bulgari Bar evokes Italian opulence while the neighboring lounge invites comfort with plush armchairs, a massive fireplace, and a ceiling inspired by a Bulgari minaudiere. Totaling two floors and nearly 14,000 square feet, the Bulgari Spa is among the largest in Paris, boasting a 25-meter swimming pool among its amenities.
Of the hotel’s 76 accommodations, 75 percent are suites equipped with terraces and loggias. Reminiscent of a private apartment, each unit is furnished with luxury furniture as well as artwork and celebrity portraiture that reflects the influence of the Bulgari brand. The Bulgari Penthouse serves as the hotel’s crown jewel, comprising 4,300 square feet of interiors and more than 6,400 square feet of exterior space across a fully landscaped hanging garden brimming with Mediterranean plants and trees.
