Just beyond the heart of Charlotte, North Carolina, the new Canopy by Hilton Charlotte SouthPark has opened as the brand’s first hotel in the state. For the new property, global firm Wilson Associates drew inspiration from the traditions of Southern hospitality and local design flavors for its upscale yet approachable design, which aims to serve as a natural extension of the community.
An abundance of florals welcome guests upon arrival in the lobby, where layered textures and a white-washed color palette infuses a sense of freshness. Conceived as a grand living room, the lobby orients modern and traditional furniture around an open fireplace, while the signature restaurant, Fine & Fettle, perpetuates the residential-style ambiance with communal tables and traditional color and fabrics. In addition to 9,000 square feet of meeting and event space, amenities include the vibrant fitness center and verandah.
Home to 150 guestrooms, including four suites, the Canopy by Hilton Charlotte SouthPark anchors each accommodation with sculptural wooden beds inspired by the traditional half tester bed. An open wardrobe is accented with Southern-style louver screens, while a mix of traditional and contemporary furnishings are installed atop colorful flame stitch rugs.
