Canopy by Hilton is set to unveil the Canopy by Hilton Tempe Downtown, its first hotel in the Southwest, later this month in Arizona, with designs by Scottsdale-based Allen + Philp. Located in the heart of Tempe’s vibrant downtown, the boutique concept will implement Hilton’s CleanStay sanitation procedures to help mitigate the spread of the virus and ensure the comfort of guests.
Home to nearly 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, the 198-room hotel will feature its signature restaurant, Alter Ego from chef Ken Arneson, on the ground floor. Clad with floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant’s modern interiors—accented by custom wood shelving, marble countertops, and locally sourced artwork—connect with the surrounding downtown corridor to instill a sense of place. Desert-inspired colors and textures meld with wood and metal details across the hotel, and accommodations also evoke an eclectic sensibility complemented by native design style.
Crowning the property on the 14th floor, Alibi serves as the rooftop pool and bar. Lounge seating, chic cabanas, a large firepit, and wraparound bar enclosed by retractable glass walls ensure year-round access against the rustic backdrop.
