Auberge Resorts Collection’s Chileno Bay Resorts & Residences is set to open in December in Chileno Bay, a 1,200-acre resort community in Los Cabos, Mexico. Burlingame, California-based firm Glazier Le Architects and San Francisco-based interior design studio BAMO have collaborated on a contemporary design embracing the natural setting with an infusion of natural materials and earthen, plant, and aqua tones. Bright sea-colored tiles, custom fabrics, and original artwork will enhance the design, reminiscent of both the desert and the ocean.
The property includes 60 guestrooms and 32 two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas varying in size from 3,300 to 4,500 square feet. All villas will include indoor-outdoor kitchens and showers, terraces, soaking tubs, and handcrafted furniture from local artisans. Marble flooring, artisan plaster walls, and handmade tiles will define the open-concept interiors. Ground-floor villas will enjoy private pools while upper-level villas will have Jacuzzis. Two three-bedroom sky villas will feature large private rooftop terraces, private pools, and a bar. A six-bedroom villa will house 11,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor space, 6.5 bathrooms, a private pool, and an outdoor shower.
Dining options will include a beachside taco bar, a poolside grill, an artisanal grab-and-go concept, and a signature open-air restaurant crafted by Los Angeles-based Gulla Jonsdottir Architecture + Design. A full-service spa will house a couples retreat room, a purification garden, plunge and reflexology pools, a sauna, and 10 treatment rooms with private outdoor shower gardens. A specialty suite will also be available, offering an outdoor garden, a private plunge pool, and steam shower.
Additional amenities include activity and fitness centers, a movement studio, kids club, private theater, and the Chileno lounge. More than 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space will be onsite, like the scenic 7,800-square-foot citrus and herb garden. The 1,000-square-foot Chileno Galleria functions as an optimal private dining venue with an adjacent 1,500-square-foot terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Sea of Cortez.
