The citizenM Seattle South Lake Union hotel has opened in the Washington metropolis, becoming the 20th international property in the hotel and lifestyle company’s portfolio. The seven-story property, which is also the brand’s first property on the West Coast of the U.S., stands in close proximity to the corporate campuses of Microsoft and Amazon, as well as attractions like the Space Needle. Gensler served as the executive architect of the project and joined forces with citizenM’s frequent collaborator Amsterdam-based firm concrete.
The façade is adorned with a large-scale work by locally based artist Jesse LeDoux that punctuates the skyline with vibrant color, while the ground floor welcomes visitors with a comic book-inspired mural by Native American artist Jeffrey Veregge. The lobby leads into a welcoming living room space that is populated with modern furniture, neon signage, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Additional brand signatures like societyM, which comprises four meeting rooms; a collectionM retail space; and a 24-hour grab-and-go concept canteenM are included onsite.
Totaling 160 square feet, each of the 264 sundrenched accommodations feature the same cozy configuration, and are anchored by an extra-large king bed with a slew of technological perks.
