Dutch hotel chain CitizenM has revealed plans to grow its footprint in the U.S. with two locations slated to open next year, both to be conceived by the brand’s regular contributor, Amsterdam-based design firm concrete.
Scheduled to open in May 2020, citizenM Seattle South Lake Union will be the brand’s first outpost on the West Coast. Artwork will punctuate public spaces like the comfortable living room, the hotel’s signature grab-and-go venue canteenM, and four sundrenched societyM meeting rooms. Wrapped in floor-to-ceiling lazing, the Seattle outpost will be home to 264 guestrooms and suites.
Whereas on the East Coast, the brand’s new Washington DC outpost will be located within a mixed-use development that will house retail and residences. In addition to 252 accommodations, citizenM Washington DC Capitol will host a public area with stairs leading to the 2F society, rooftop bar cloudM, and seven expansive meeting rooms.
2020 will also include European openings for CitizenM in Geneva.
