CitizenM has revealed plans to launch its second location in Boston in the city’s Back Bay neighborhood. Located within the forthcoming mixed-use Parcel 12 development compromising separate office and hotel buildings installed above a retail podium and public plaza, the hotel’s design will be overseen by Amsterdam-based studio concrete, the brand’s regular collaborator.
Slated for LEED Gold certification, the property will be crafted with an emphasis on sustainability, and outfitted with innovative technologies such as an all-electric HVAC system, and high-efficiency water fixtures to reduce water waste. Showcasing many design signatures of the brand, the hotel’s interiors will emphasize local influence and aim to be the hood’s new social hub while reflecting the influence of its location through an eclectic range of contemporary artwork, photography, and found objects sourced by local artists.
