Como Hotels and Resorts has expanded its reach into Italy for the first time with the launch of Como Castello Del Nero in Tuscany. Set upon a historic 740-acre estate in the Chinati region, the property is anchored by a 12th-century castle upgraded by Milanese designer Paola Navone. The new hotel is also the brand’s first opening in continental Europe.
Home to 50 guestrooms and suites, the historic site has been delicately transformed into a contemporary retreat, while original details like terracotta floors, fresco walls, and vaulted ceilings remain intact. The Michelin-starred La Torre restaurant is housed inside the original castle stables during winter months, with plans to relocate to the hotel garden terrace in the summer. La Taverna and the Pavilion also round out the onsite F&B options. Additional amenities include tennis courts, a heated outdoor pool, and the wellness concept Como Shambhala Retreat.
