The Dossier has debuted in Portland, Oregon as the latest addition to the Provenance Hotel portfolio. Reminiscent of a private club in the heart of the city’s downtown, the 205-room hotel balances Old World hospitality traditions with an elegant, modern design crafted by Provenance’s director of interior design Ashley Stempler.
The inviting lobby welcomes guests with walnut-paneled walls and handcut designer sconces that illuminate the herringbone marble floors that are topped with 19th century antique Turkish rugs. A walnut reception desk is upholstered in rich blue leather, while leather club chairs wear tobacco and warm gray hues. An emerald green tufted velvet couch is also installed across from windows framed with sapphire velvet drapes.
The lobby’s bar concept Opal is appointed with curved banquettes and walnut ceilings. Conceived as an architectural jewel box, the space is warmly aglow. Tucked behind the bar is the 50-seat eatery Omertà. Also lined with walnut walls and ceilings, the restaurant is outfitted with tufted leather booths and handmade wallpaper. Reclaimed light fixtures help set the mood as well. All guestrooms feature photography from artist Slim Aarons in addition to several upscale amenities.
