In partnership with Crescent Hotels & Resorts, Rockbridge has begun the multimillion-dollar renovation of downtown Dallas’ historic Adolphus hotel, a Rockbridge Portfolio property.
Led by RB Hotel Development and locally based Duncan Miller Ullmann (DMU), the 100-year-old, 407-room hotel’s new aesthetic will blend Old World charm with contemporary design.
“Every detail, large or small, will be designed to enhance the guest experience in an authentic, thoughtful way,” says Michael George, CEO of Crescent Hotels & Resorts. “The new look and feel will incorporate elements of its illustrious past.”
The property-wide refurbishment will include renovations to all guestrooms, public spaces, the French Room restaurant, and meeting areas. Additions will include a new ballroom on the 19th floor, the construction of a 7th floor rooftop pool and bar measuring approximately 9,500 square feet, a new spa and fitness center, and new dining and retail developments.
“For over a century, the Adolphus has been a crucial part of Dallas’ cultural fabric,” says Jim Merkel, president and CEO of Rockbridge. “This renovation represents a renewal of the Adolphus’ historic role in Dallas culture and an expansion of its great legacy.”
The hotel will remain open throughout the project.
Completed this past January, an update to the property’s 24,000 square feet of meeting areas saw the installation of new carpet, wallcoverings, furniture, seating, window treatments, accent sconces, lighting, technology, and a remodeled business center. The new ballroom will add an additional 3,700 square feet of meeting space, while a new 8th floor concierge lounge will offer 2,130 square feet of multi-functional indoor and outdoor space.
In addition to the renovated French Room restaurant, the hotel’s F&B program will include a new all-day dining restaurant and coffeehouse.
Known as the “Grand Dame of Downtown Dallas,” the Beaux Arts building was developed in 1912 by Adolphus Busch, co-founder of Anheuser-Busch.
