In partnership with investment firm Agman Partners, Chicago-based Aparium Hotel Group has acquired two buildings in Kansas City, Missouri, that are slated for conversion into a single boutique hotel.
A name for the property is yet to be selected, however the company is currently meeting with local brewers, distilleries, vendors, and farmers to decide upon a regionally appropriate identity.
Located in the city’s Crossroads arts district, the two properties include the historic Pabst Brewing Co. and Pendergast buildings, which will be renovated by locally based architecture firm El Dorado Inc. into a 125-room hotel expected to feature meeting spaces, F&B outlets, and a rooftop deck.
Built in 1911 as a bottling and distribution plant for Pabst Brewing Co., the Pabst building expanded its offices to include the Pendergast building in the 1920s. Various companies subsequently used the two sites as warehouses over the years.
Construction is slated to begin early next year and will conclude in mid-2017.
