Luxury camp and lodging management company Elewana has launched the upscale Losiaba Tented Camp on the 56,000-acre Losiaba Conservancy in Kenya. The conservancy serves as a vital sanctuary for more than 700 individually identified elephants migrating between the dry and wet seasons through the Losiaba corridor, one of the longest elephant migrations in Africa.
Part of the Elewana Collection’s 15 properties, the camp, located on a 600-foot escarpment and supported by the Nature Conservancy (TNC), offers unparalleled views of the Laikipia Plains and Mount Kenya and a low ecological footprint.
“The partnership with the Nature Conservancy highlights Elewana’s passion and commitment to conservation, one that is reflected in its support (financial and otherwise) for this exciting new project; a project that sits at the very heart of TNC’s community, wildlife and land conservation philosophies and their important collaboration with tourism,” says Elewana CEO Karim Wissanji.
The camp comprises six ensuite tents—three double and three convertible twin/double; and three family combinations with two ensuite tents with an adjoining walkway. The Private Residence offers three ensuite tents, a private bar, dining area, and an infinity pool. The onsite restaurant and bar offers guests views over the landscape and dishes made from ingredients grown within a 30-mile radius.
