Fairmont has announced the launch of two luxury hotels in Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
Located in the Taghazout Bay resort, the Fairmont Taghazout Bay in Morocco is slated for a 2019 opening. The hotel will be situated on nearly two million square feet of beach adjacent to a Kyle Philips-designed 18-hole golf course. The 155-guestroom hotel will feature ocean views and 52 luxury waterfront villas, the first of their kind to debut in the country. 27,000 square feet of flexible event space will also be available in addition to a spa, fitness center, onsite restaurants, and a beach pool bar and grill.
The Fairmont Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia will debut in 2020 in Al Khobar, a coastal city on the Arabian Gulf. Located in a high-end commercial area, the 240-room hotel will include 12 serviced residences and almost 43,000 square feet of events and meeting space, including the largest ballroom in the Eastern Province. Amenities will include a lobby lounge, a range of F&B options including a specialty restaurant and gourmet pastry café, and a spa and fitness center.
“The market for luxury accommodations in Morocco and Saudi Arabia is growing at a rapid pace with an excellent outlook for investment performance,” says Sami Nasser, Fairmont’s senior vice president of operations in the Middle East, Africa, and India. “We are happy to increase our presence and our commitment to these dynamic regions and look forward to successfully launching these new hotels while continuing to explore future development opportunities throughout the region and globally.”
As part of the brand’s expansion in the Middle East, Africa, and India, the two properties will grow Fairmont’s presence to 20 hotels in the region by 2020.
