Fairmont has announced plans to develop a new luxury property in Mexico. Slated to open its doors in late 2018, the 250-room Fairmont Costa Canuva will debut as part of the seaside Costa Canuva community on the Riviera Nayarit just north of Punta Mita.
The Fairmont Costa Canuva will include private Fairmont-branded residences and 40 Fairmont Gold guestrooms. 22,000 square feet of meeting and events space will be available in addition to six bars and restaurants, an outdoor swimming pool, an activity center for children and young adults, and the 13,000-square-foot Willow Stream Spa. The hotel will also be a short distance from the Sanctuary Convention Center.
The Costa Canuva community, spanning 4.3 miles of shoreline and 630 acres of beach and mountains, will comprise five hotels from multiple brands. The beachfront village will feature 2,500 residential units designed by Mexico City-based firm Artigas Arquitectos, as well as a PGA-level golf course. The project will be overseen by Portugese construction company Mota-Engil.
