Fairmont Hotels and Resorts is planning a $27 million, multi-phase renovation of the Fairmont Washington, DC, Georgetown.
Phase one will begin in December and includes all accommodations, the Fairmont Gold floor, and the lounge. The 415-key hotel’s executive forum amphitheater will also be repurposed as a 2,900-square-foot junior ballroom. Two new suites will be added, increasing the available options from five to seven.
The guestroom revamp will be a locally inspired endeavor helmed by New York-based Wimberly Interiors. The rooms will boast a blend of modern and traditional furnishings, along with a lounge-style workspace.
Residential-style guestrooms on the Fairmont Gold floor will be outfitted with accent art walls—located behind tufted headboards—depicting contemporary interpretations of local sites such as Georgetown. Carpets and fabrics will also be refreshed with new patterns and colors.
The project is scheduled for completion next April.
