Marriott International’s Autograph Collection Hotels has welcomed five properties to its global portfolio in the Bahamas, Europe, UAE, and the U.S.
The Roomers Baden-Baden in Baden-Baden, Germany opened in October with modern design from Italian architect Piero Lissoni in collaboration with Bernhard Wagener of the Frankfurt-based Gekko Group. The 130-room hotel will house Moriki, a new Pan-Asian concept from chef Duc Ngo, as well as a rooftop lounge bar outfitted with a garden and infinity pool overlooking the Black Forest. The hotel will also feature a 5,382-square-foot spa equipped with a hammam, sauna, and steam bath.
The Watermark Baton Rouge
The Watermark Baton Rouge, which opened in October, is located in the former Louisiana Trust and Savings Bank, the first skyscraper in the city of Baton Rouge. The hotel’s design includes rare artwork by local famed sculptor Angela Gregory in the public spaces and original marble stairways that lead to the former bank vault—now ballroom. The 144 guestrooms features classic industrial features, including vault-inspired doors and exposed walls that highlight the timeless structure of the building.
The French Leave Resort
The French Leave Resort opened on Eleuthera Island, the Bahamas in December, offering a tranquil retreat spread across 270 acres. Crafted by Dina Caruso of Pittsburgh-based Caruso Design Group, the resort includes an environmentally conscious design as well as a resort marina.
The Adolphus Hotel
The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas reopened in December following a multimillion-dollar restoration from locally based firm Design Duncan Miller Ullmann. Guestrooms and public spaces including the 19th-floor ballroom and the French Room Restaurant will be updated at the historic landmark property. A seventh-floor rooftop pool and bar will be created along with a luxury spa and fitness center.
Dubai’s La Ville Hotel & Suites CITY WALK arrived in December as a distinctive 77-room low-rise property. Designed by Woods Bagot Architects, the property will evoke urban luxury through neutral furnishings and contemporary, artistic twists. In addition to 11 suites and 68 apartments, an airy penthouse suite will boast 2,000 square feet of living space, a private dining area, and a terrace reveling in city views. F&B options will include the locally inspired Chival, the modern gastropub Graze, and the rooftop wine bar Grapeskin.
