Four Seasons has planted its latest flag in the Twin Cities with the opening of the Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis. Atlanta-based Smallwood spearheaded the design of public spaces and 222 accommodations, while AvroKO crafted the F&B spaces to channel the Mediterranean coast and countryside as well as Minnesota’s mill industry legacy.
The hotel features restaurant and bar Mara and streetfront café Socca—both of which recall the Mediterranean. Echoing the softness of the landscape, olive hues define Mara, which is equipped with a massive open kitchen hearth. References to Minnesota—including gold-leafed tubular forms showcased alongside the wood and textile handiwork of local artisans—also permeate the concept. “While Minnesota is celebrated for its outdoor beauty, it was rewarding to be able to bring more interior beauty to the Minneapolis food scene,” says Lexie Aliotti, co-managing director of AvroKO’s New York office. “We wanted to highlight the same richness of experience that is generated from the landscape inside a beautiful hotel restaurant.” Riva Terrace, located on the fourth-floor pool plaza, rounds out the hotel’s F&B lineup.
In addition to more than 16,000 square feet of event space, the Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis includes an entire floor designed by personal trainer Harley Pasternak. The wellness facility comprises a sustainable spa, 24-hour fitness center, an indoor pool lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a large terrace anchored by an outdoor pool.
Bright and soothing tones adorn spacious guestrooms and suites, where marble tabletops, wool carpets, and half-wall wood paneling accented by brass also abound. On the 30th floor, the lavish presidential suite boasts a full kitchen, dual bar areas, and a trio of bedrooms.
