The Fairmont Austin is scheduled to open on June 3, 2017.
The $350 million Fairmont Austin broke ground on November 3rd and will feature 1,066 rooms crafted by architecture firm Gensler Austin. The Texas property will be the second tallest structure in downtown Austin.
As the only hotel connected to the Austin Convention Center by an aerial promenade, the Fairmont Austin is expected to help attract additional convention center business and meet increasing demand. It will feature 106,500 square feet of meeting space with an additional 43,300 square feet of pre-function space and a 19,000-square-foot outdoor deck with space for 1,200 guests.
The hotel’s design encompasses a number of green building elements that complements Fairmont’s philosophy of operational sustainability. More than two decades ago Fairmont adopted a comprehensive environmental program and recently addressed climate change by pledging to significantly reduce carbon emissions worldwide.
