The historic Ames Boston Hotel has joined Hilton’s 20-property strong Curio Collection. Housed in the iconic Ames Building, the 114-room hotel recently received an upgrade from New York-based Glen & Co. Architecture.
The 15-story hotel honors its heritage while also evoking modern style. Original signature details such as the lobby’s tiled mosaic arched ceiling and expansive marble staircase remain, conveying Old World sophistication, while the newly renovated lobby now offers sleek check-in stations and relaxed seating enclaves designed with warm-toned wooden shelves and trimming double as a communal workspace. The Library Room graces the adjacent entryway, complete with a midcentury and comfortable seating options.
Paying homage to the building’s 19th-century character, guestrooms feature oversized closets and ergonomic workspaces. Romanesque arched windows and decorative fireplaces enhance suites, while grand windows flood spaces with natural light, accenting high white ceilings, light oak hardwood floors, and modern décor. Bathrooms are equipped with marble rain showers, stainless steel fixtures, and illuminated vanity mirrors.
Chef Mary Dumont will launch Cultivar restaurant later this year, and new meeting and event space will open in December.
