InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has completed its new flagship EVEN Hotels New York – Times Square South location, which was designed by locally based firms Glen & Company Architecture and architect of record Peter Poon Architects.
The opening marks the third EVEN brand location and the first in New York.
Located in Manhattan’s Times Square neighborhood, the modern 150-room exemplifies the wellness brand with recycled and locally sourced natural materials, such as textured wood walls, gray stone ceramic tiles, and cork floors. A glass-enclosed wall resembling a cross section of earth greets guests in the lobby, which also features gabion walls and 15-foot-tall stone columns.
“We designed EVEN Hotels New York – Times Square South utilizing inspiration we gathered from nature, immersing natural elements such as water, grass, wood, and stone into the space,” says Glen Coben, founder and owner of Glen & Company. “Our goal was to create an atmosphere that enhances the wellness experience.”
Guest corridors boast digitally produced, large-scale grass wall coverings, which form a visual link with nature-inspired guestrooms. These accommodations feature greenery-inspired curtains, wood accessories, eucalyptus fiber linens, glass-enclosed rainfall showers, earth-tone tapestries, as well as moveable and stand-up desk options.
In addition to this recent opening, EVEN Hotels has five locations in the pipeline, including Seattle; Miami; and Omaha, Nebraska; along with two more New York hotels, in Midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn.
