New York-based Glen & Company has designed Time Hotel’s newest development in Nyack, New York in collaboration with architect of record Environetics. Located in the Hudson Valley just north of Manhattan, Time Nyack was developed by WYinc., and is a 133-room boutique hotel slated to open in March.
Design elements are inspired by the town where the property is located, which is home to many artists, bohemians, and New York City transplants, and is a former center for industrial manufacturing. Guests will be greeted by an industrial aesthetic that includes exposed brick, concrete and wood flooring, and walnut paneling.
“Our design for the hotel is based upon the quirky, eclectic spirit of Nyack mashed up with the overall gestalt of the Time Hotels brand,” says Glen & Company founder Glen Coben, who adds that the property is a “getaway designed to immerse [guests] into the Hudson Valley culture and offer an escape from reality.”
The loft-like guestrooms feature modern furniture, graphic and textured wallcoverings, area rugs inspired by handwoven Persian carpets, and headboards with integrated lighting. Quirky touches such as industrial lighting set against feather-adorned sconces will be incorporated throughout the property.
The space will also host a lounge, a rooftop bar, and BV Grill—a first-cousin of the famed Bobby Van’s Steakhouse. Other amenities include 3,500 square feet of meeting and event space, a business center, recreational pools, a fitness center, a bike program, local shuttle services, and a Tesla charging station.
This is the second offering from the Time Hotels brand, which was launched with Times Square property in 1999.
