Located among the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the fifth iteration of the Glen House hotel will open at the base of Mount Washington this September. The three-story property will feature designs from a slew of New Hampshire firms including BMA Architectural Group and Stibler Associates, the latter of which will oversee the project’s interior design.
The newest design of the property pays tribute to the classic White Mountain hotels of the 19th century, incorporating elements like clapboards and painted trim akin to previous Glen House aesthetics. Expansive public spaces will be adorned with artwork that also celebrates the history of the region and the four previous hotels. The casual Notch Grille will feature a bar, lounge, and alfresco seating, as well as amenities such as dedicated meeting space, a fitness center, and an indoor pool. All 68 guestrooms will be characterized with a Shaker design, and most will also be equipped with balconies that face Mount Washington.
A geothermal system will also be outfitted into the design to ensure carbon neutrality and sustainable heating and cooling, while two offsite generators will harness hydro and solar power.
