AJ Capital Partners and Cornell University have announced plans to launch a Graduate Hotels property on the school’s new Cornell Tech campus on New York City’s Roosevelt Island. Designed by Snøhetta, the 196-room Graduate Roosevelt Island is slated to arrive in 2019.
Featuring a comfortable residential aesthetic, the hotel’s slender profile marks the entrance to the campus, while offering guests unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline through floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel’s comfortable residential aesthetic will reference the history of Roosevelt Island, while capturing the innovative spirit of the Cornell Tech campus. Additional amenities include an onsite restaurant and rooftop and 5,200 square feet of flexible meeting and function space.
Set on 12-acres, the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill-designed Tech campus’ first phase will open this September, unveiling a new model for research, collaboration, and academic prowess. Featuring three sustainable new builds, the campus will be one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally conscious on the planet.
