The Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Dallas has been named a 2016 Preservation Dallas Achievement Award winner. The 16th annual awards ceremony honored the outstanding development of Dallas’ historic buildings as well as those contributing to the city’s history.
Dallas-based architecture firm Merriman Anderson/Architects collaborated on the design of the 32-story hotel with local firm Looney & Associates. The mixed-use development with ground floor restaurant, 195 hotel rooms, and 196 residential suites was renovated per National Park Services standards for historical designation.
The property is housed within the city’s former Ling-Temco-Vought (LVT) Tower, which was originally designed in 1961 by architects Harwood K. Smith and Dales Young Foster and opened in 1964. Its restoration includes a distinctive blend of history, contemporary amenities, and Texas-inspired accents. It also features 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space with easy access to popular downtown sites like the Dallas Arts District.
