Hilton has announced plans to expand its presence in Peru with the launch of seven new properties over the next three years. The new locations will span the company’s Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites, DoubleTree, and Hampton brands. Hilton currently operates more than 90 hotels with 15,500 guestrooms in South America.
“Hilton Worldwide is diligent about its growth in Peru and Latin America overall,” says Juan Corvinos, Hilton’s managing director of development for Central America, Andean and Hispanic Caribbean regions. “We’re developing properties responsibly in coveted areas that have remained untouched by other developers, pinpointing urban and rural cities near culinary, cultural and adventure attractions and are thrilled to be expanding the presence of our world-renowned brands in the region.”
The seven upcoming hotels include the 71-room Hilton Garden Inn Lima Surco, which will be the first international hotel in Lima’s Santiago de Surco district. The Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites by Hilton Lima San Isidro will be the first dual-branded hotel outside of North America for each brand, and will be developed by T&C Developments with 280 rooms collectively. The 250-room Hilton Garden Inn Lima Miraflores, the 65-room DoubleTree by Hilton Iquitos, the 86-room Hampton by Hilton Tarapoto, and the Hampton by Hilton Trujillo, with 94 guestrooms, are also slated to debut by 2019.
Peru has recently earned recognition as a global travel destination, receiving the World Travel Award for the World’s Leading Culinary Destination four years in a row. The nation also won awards as the World’s Leading Green Destination and South America’s Leading Heritage, Cultural, and Culinary Destination. The new properties will join Hilton’s four other hotels in the country.
