Hilton has announced plans to open its first location in Serbia. The 242-guestroom Hilton Belgrade, a partnership with Belaga Management Company, will be located in the capital city’s historic Old Town neighborhood.
“Growing our presence in city destinations in southeastern Europe has formed a significant part of our regional growth strategy, as Hilton Belgrade joins Hilton Worldwide hotels trading or in development in approximately 30 European capitals,” says Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton’s senior vice president of development for Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
The seven-story new-build will be located less than 10 miles from the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport and a close walk from city sights like the Square Slavija, St. Mark’s Church, the National Museum, and the National Theater.
In addition to a restaurant and bar on the ground floor, a rooftop drinking and dining space— one of the only rooftop venues of its kind in Belgrade—will also be making its debut at the hotel, along with nearly 10,800 square feet of conference and event space, including a ballroom, pre-function space, and several sizeable function rooms. Other amenities include a fitness center, thermal facilities, and an executive lounge.
The hotel is slated for a 2018 opening.
