In partnership with 4C Hotel Group, Hilton Worldwide will open a Canopy by Hilton in London. Slated to open in 2018, the hotel is located in Aldgate, adjacent to the historic Roman and medieval walls. It marks the brand’s debut in the UK, and will follow the launch of the first Canopy by Hilton in Reykjavik, Iceland, this summer.
“Canopy offers travelers a fresh experience in the lifestyle category with surprising extras and local know how,” says Gary Steffen the global head of Canopy by Hilton. “Aldgate was chosen for its proximity to both the stylish City of London and the more edgy and energetic East End.”
The hotel is part of a mixed-use development that will include a new city square, a public green garden, an office building, and a new residential building. The interior design of the hotel is inspired by Whitechapel Gallery, and the melting pot of cultures in the surrounding neighborhood.
Features include the Canopy Central—a ground floor lobby—as well as a restaurant, rooftop bar, meeting rooms, and fitness center.
