Hoshino Resorts is set to grow its footprint in February with the launch of Hoshino Resorts BEB5 Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture of Honshu, Japan. Conceived as a laidback retreat, the Millennial-targeted resort will promote spontaneity and a rejection of the rules of convention.
The Tamariba Lounge will serve as the resort’s signature public space, anchored by an expansive wooden deck. The cozy environment will be illuminated with lanterns and a bonfire after sunset. Of the resort’s 73 guestrooms, 40 tatami-floored Yagura rooms will span 213 square feet and accommodate up to three guests within a configuration inspired by traditional Japanese ryokans. In addition, 32 twin rooms are meant for two guests, while each universal room can host two visitors across 319 square feet.
