Hotel Andaz Munich has debuted in Germany with a design from Amsterdam-based design firm Concrete. Totaling more than 383,000 square feet, the new hotel honors Bavarian culture.
A diamond motif, which references the Bavarian flag, lines the natural stone floors of the hotel’s bar and lounge floors. Diamond-shaped columns also punctuate the arrival experience, ascending two stories and adorned with large video screens. Connected by the lounge, the Lonely Broccoli restaurant is anchored by a central open kitchen equipped with a massive hood composed of steel and glass. The onsite ballroom glistens with a 16-foot-tall, diamond-shaped ceiling that folds down to the floor on one end of the room. The backlit ceiling design emits light in a variety of color for a kaleidoscope effect.
The 227 spacious guestrooms draw inspiration from modern lofts, with raw steel partitions installed in place of walls to convey a sense of openness. Accented with brass, the spa is adorned with a natural palette of soft green tones, oak, and a light tile mosaic. A 24-hour fitness center is housed across the fifth floor along with treatment rooms, changing rooms, and a large sauna area. In addition to the pool deck and outdoor terrace on the sixth floor, the M’uniqo sky bar radiates opulence with backlit bar shelves, a mirrored ceiling, and panoramic city views.
