In collaboration with Healdsburg, California-based Myra Hoefer Design, San Francisco-based David Baker Architects has been tasked with renovating all guestrooms and suites within Hotel Healdsburg, which debuted in 2001.
“Myra Hoefer Design and David Baker Architects have enhanced the hotel’s interior with an organic and humble touch,” says Circe Sher, a partner in Piazza Hospitality, which developed and manages the hotel, which is located on the western edge of historic Healdsburg Plaza. “Guests will feel immersed in art and fine craftsmanship during their stay.”
To debut in February, modernized accommodations will boast custom cowhide benches, linen-slipcovered chairs, silk and wool rugs, as well as reclaimed wood bedside tables. Locally based artist Wade Hoefer will provide paintings of clouds, unique to each room, that play off of white walls, pale green-blue shutters, and other light blue accents with silver, lavender, and gray hues.
Lighting will additionally be upgraded to environmentally sustainable LED fixtures that include floor lamps, sconces, and custom illuminated headboards with built-in reading lights.
The project references a lobby and pool area renovation that Myra Hoefer Design completed last year. At that time, the lobby was refreshed with new velvet couches and pillows, crescent-shaped sofas, faux emu chairs, reclaimed lumber tables, and textured woven chairs—all set against a gray, yellow, and white color palette. Like the rooms, cloud paintings were added to lend a feeling of lightness that is augmented by oversized mirrors.
Earlier this year, the pool area was upgraded with a custom zinc and concrete bar, along with minimalist furnishings that include large cantilevered umbrellas and teak and mesh chaise lounges and sidetables.
