In partnership with Brack Capital Real Estate (BCRE), InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened New York’s third Hotel Indigo-branded property, located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Managed by IHG, the 293-room Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York features a locally informed aesthetic.
“From the culture of its inhabitants to its bright, graffiti-painted streets, guests will be inspired by the glamour of the neighborhood, which is seamlessly integrated into the design and service style of the Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York,” says Jason Moskal, IHG’s vice president of lifestyle brands for the Americas.
A ground floor vestibule leads guests to the lobby on the 14th floor, where floor-to-ceiling windows offer unobstructed views, and a mural by locally based street artist Lee Quinones—whose art is also featured in guestrooms and elevator lobbies—spans the ceiling. On the level above, a 5,000-square-foot terrace features a pool, bar, and various seating options.
Another homage to street art comprises two sculptures on loan from filmmaker and street artist Mr. Brainwash’s (Thierry Guetta) Life is Beautiful pop-up gallery.
Spacious guestrooms starting at the fifth floor feature hard surface flooring, area rugs, spa-inspired bathrooms, and views overlooking midtown Manhattan and the downtown skyline. Accommodations encompass four luxury suites and a duplex penthouse loft, located on the 25th and 26th floors.
Amenities include a lobby-level café and bar; the 8,750-square-foot, loft-like Mr. Purple rooftop bar, developed by the Gerber Group and crafted by Brooklyn-based Crème Design; meeting space that includes a private outdoor area; and a fitness center.
Another of the brand’s properties—Hotel Indigo York—was also recently opened in the UK, designed by British studio Matthews Mee.
