Hospitality management company Charlestowne Hotels has unveiled its latest property, Hotel Morgan, a Wyndham Hotel, in Morgantown, West Virginia. The opening is Charlestowne’s 10th in a collegiate market and the company’s eighth adaptive reuse project. The historic boutique concept underwent a year-long refresh led by Mississippi-based real estate development company Thrash Group.
“Charlestowne’s personalized approach to renovation and rebranding is unrivaled,” says Ike Thrash, founder and managing member at Thrash Group. “We sought their expertise to strike a balance between honoring the Hotel Morgan’s heritage and introducing contemporary touchpoints designed with a college-town traveler in mind.
Located in the heart of the town, where West Virginia University’s campus is located, the 95-year-old Hotel Morgan has been upgraded to instill a firm sense of place. Anvil + Ax serves as the hotel’s versatile F&B venue, while dual meeting rooms, two expansive ballrooms, and a rooftop area round out the event spaces. Eighty-three accommodations are featured onsite, including two suites.
Thrash adds, “Hotel Morgan has served as a pillar of the Morgantown community for close to a century, and we’re confident in Charlestowne’s ability to skillfully navigate the property through the shifting landscape of today’s university market space.”
