The Hotel Paradox in Santa Cruz has joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Aligned with Autograph principles, the Paradox honors its location with an urban forest design drawing influence from the nearby mountains and redwoods.
Situated in the heart of Santa Cruz, California a short distance from the city’s Pacific Avenue, the hotel has refreshed look following a recent renovation from Palo Alto-based developers BPR Properties. Upgrades include a more open floor plan in the onsite Solaire Restaurant + Bar—also featuring a multi-angled ceiling and backlit trees—and additional firepits and new cabanas on the pool deck. The arrival experience has also been revamped with a new reception desk crafted from eucalyptus trees.
Now clad with new furniture, each of the 164 guestrooms and six suites are dressed in natural, forest-inspired décor including wooden stump tables, reclaimed wood paneling, and river rock shower floors.
