The Hotel Republic San Diego has debuted as the latest addition to Marriott’s Autograph Collection. The 19-story boutique concept features a collaborative design from locally based Bluemotif Architecture and Los Angeles-based Forchielli Glynn that channels the aesthetic of a chic beach house and private yacht club.
The property evokes the independent spirit captured of California through its locally informed design and amenities. The lobby is anchored by Trade, the elegant 570-seat restaurant and cocktail bar that celebrate San Diego’s gastronomic identity. Suitable for up to 46 guests, the Patio Marketplace, caters to the bustle of downtown San Diego, while the third floor is home to the open-air terrace restaurant and lounge Topside Terrace Kitchen & Bar.
The hotel hosts 16,000 square feet of private meeting and event space, including the VIP Marriott Rewards Veranda indoor-outdoor lounge, which embraces Sani Diego’s climate and is equipped with a two-sided fireplace wall, a green trellis, and natural lighting elements. A rooftop space is home to a variety of activities from yoga to cooking tutorials. The pinnacle of the hotel’s 258-room lineup is the luxe 1,250-square-foot presidential suite, which frames expansive views of the downtown skyline.
