Making its debut this summer, the 151-room Hotel Theodore in Seattle, from Provenance Hotels, has announced a partnership with the city’s Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI), which centers on Seattle’s innovators. Set against the backdrop of the hotel, the city’s industrial roots will be honored through photography and patent drawings provided from the MOHAI archives.
Photographs and illustrations will include designs of Sonicare’s first electric toothbrush, Nordstrom’s original store, and the retro futurism of the Space Needle and Seattle World’s Fair monorail. Glass-blown artwork from Dale Chihuly will also be displayed. Guestroom floor elevator landings will showcase custom-built cases that display local artifacts, ranging from logging saws and fishing net floats to vintage IBM computer punch cards to Eddie Bauer’s Skyliner jacket.
Formerly the Roosevelt Hotel, Hotel Theodore is designed by locally based studio Susan Marinello Interiors. The façade will feature the iconic Roosevelt sign, and the contemporary interior will maximize Puget Sound views. In addition, a second-floor gym and more than 2,400 square feet of reception and meeting space will also be offered.
