The Hyatt House New York/Chelsea has debuted in Manhattan. The 30-story new-build property is the brand’s new flagship and first in the city. Locally based Nobutaka Ashihara Architect crafted the structure with a glossy, slender façade and clean lines, while a soft limestone tone contrasts light blue tinted glass for a unique visual effect.
Ranging from 270 to 510 square feet, the 150 guestrooms span studio and one-bedroom configurations and boast floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the city skyline. Floral artwork inspired by Chelsea’s legacy as the Flower District Rooms complement an understated palette of chocolate soft gray and ivory hues. Outfitted with stainless steel appliances, kitchenettes are installed in 74 suites, while 18 one-bedroom suites feature in-room washer/dryer machines and pull-out sofa beds.
Dining options include the 14,000-square-foot H Bar lounge on the second floor, the 24-hour H Market grab-and-go concept, and the 2Beans chocolate and espresso shop. A 1,300-square-foot casual outdoor space will arrive later this summer. The 30th floor also houses Manhattan’s only rooftop fitness center.
