IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to launch the first Regent Hotels & Resorts property in Southeast Asia this spring. Located beside Vietnam’s UNESCO-designated biosphere reserves, the Regent Phu Quoc resort will immerse guests in the waterfront serenity of Long Beach, which serves as the muse for the design by BLINK Design Group. “Created with spirit, trust, and a sense of discovery, the design has a compelling sense of place and inspire connections with guests,” says BLINK founder and creative partner Clint Nagata.
The project’s architecture will reflect a modern reinterpretation of Vietnamese vernacular with details like pocket courtyards and traditional wooden trusses and roofing featuring Bovi patterns. The patterns are echoed across screens, carpeting, and other accessories to subtly infuse a sense of place. Indoor-outdoor living will also be promoted across both public and private spaces.
Each of Regent Phu Quoc’s 176 suites will reinforce nature with panoramic views, while its 126 villas will embrace the setting with floor-to-ceiling windows and private infinity pools. The resort will also boast six F&B options—including a Franco-Japanese eatery, a beachfront Mediterranean concept, a speakeasy-style cocktail venue, and a sky pool terrace and bar—and an onsite spa comprising a fitness center, salon, meditation studio, and rooftop yoga pavilions.
